Explosion in BadioaMogadishu, (insidesomalia.org) A woman has been wounded on Thursday after an explosion blasted at Baidoa, a town in Southern Somalia and a temporary base of the Somali Parliament.

The Blast came after an Ethiopian Military truck was targeted by unknown men this morning.

The tension of the town grew higher after the explosion take place and immediately after the explosion the streets were deserted.

Police forces who came the explosion scene barricaded the whole area, between Hotel Aden and Isha Baidoa, says Abdikarim Impicillin, a freelance reporter in Baidoa speaking to insidesomalia.org on the telephone line.

Another explosion erupted at a crowded place at the centre of Baidoa, a centre used by Baidoa local Authority for tax compilation but the reports did not specify the number of the casualties.

The kind of the explosion was not clearly identified but contradicting stories came out, some say the it was landmine while other said the blast was a grenade hurled at the truck.

This is latest attack in Baidoa and other attacks in Mogadishu over night came after a day when Somalia’s newly appointed prime minister, Nur Hassan Hussein” Nur Adde” , says the situation the country is improving and the fact that efforts are under way to establish an effective government in Somalia.

After the minister met in Addis Ababa with Ethiopian Prime Minister and US Foreign Secretary Condoleezza Rice, Nur Adde acclaimed that the security in Somalia had been improving .

Recently Ethiopian Prime Minister Melees Zenawi said that Ethiopia was bogged down in Somalia and could not withdraw it’s troops unless replaced by 8,000 AU peacekeeping force pledged but their arrival delayed by either logistical or financial problems, only 1,500 Ugandan troops are stationed in Mogadishu.

The escalating insurgency has seen UN chief Ban Ki-moon rule out sending any peacekeepers to war torn Africa.
